Doraemon Nobita and The Island of Miracle ~Animal Adventure 100.JPG
Nobita's typical day involves arriving late to school, falling asleep during class, rating zero (0%) (F's in the British dub) on his lab tests, getting scolded by his tutor, being teased by his classmates Gian and Suneo, slipping in the curbside rainfall gutters, getting chased by puppies after stepping on the tails mistakenly, getting grounded by his mom for not doing his home work, and being bullied by all his friends except Shizuka, who remembers Nobita's kind heart and soul and cares for him. He is also a coward who is frightened by almost anything, particularly ghosts, and a cry-baby (a working gag in the show has Nobita crying and asking for Doraemon to draw out his gadgets, generally at the beginning of the tv show). He dislikes going on outdoor activities with his interest being taking an afternoon reading or nap comics, right after school usually. In fact, sleeping and comic booklet reading are his only true interests probably; one story features Nobita drifting off to sleep in three seconds just by closing his eyes, while in others he chooses sleep over important events, such as watching the first sunrise on New Year's Day. The thing halting him from staying at home on a regular basis, other than tinkering with Doraemon's devices, is Gian and Suneo bullying him to take part in baseball video games or criticisms from his parents and Doraemon to venture out and play.Regardless of the above flaws, Nobita is portrayed to be kind-hearted usually, emotional, honest, occasionally hard-working (like when he gets into a wager with his friends) and sometimes courageous. He has often risked his life to help save others or even whole civilizations in full-length reports. Though he is shown to be poor academically, the real reason for it is his laziness principally, and he has also secured good grades in multiple episodes, proving his credentials. Nobita can be quite in charge and serious sometimes. Nobita is weak for the most part things but has some strengths. For instance, Nobita has excellent marksmanship which rivals (or even surpasses) Dora the Kid. They can weave excellent string numbers also, is a great archer, and a reasonably good comic booklet critic, owing to the large amount of their time he spends on reading them. He's also very creative when it comes to utilizing Doraemon's devices (in one episode, he found a way to profitably use a device called 'the broadcasting mirror', for advertising, even when Doraemon himself couldn't think of any use for it).In the initial history where Doraemon didn't interfere, Nobita marries Jaiko (Gian's sister, although he loves Shizuka), never locates a good job, starts off his own business, and goes bankrupt eventually. Doraemon succeeds on his mission to avoid each one of these from happening, as observed in several episodes in which they happen to be the future. Nobita eventually marries Shizuka and becomes an officer in the Ministry of Environment.
