Doraemon Nobita and The Island of Miracle ~Animal Adventure 135.JPG
Nobita's typical day includes arriving late to school, falling asleep during class, credit scoring zero (0%) (F's in the English dub) on his testing, getting scolded by his tutor, being teased by his classmates Suneo and Gian, falling in the curbside rainfall gutters, getting chased by canines after stepping on the tails mistakenly, getting grounded by his mother for not doing his research, and being bullied by all his friends except Shizuka, who remembers Nobita's kind heart and soul and cares for him. He is a coward who is frightened by almost everything also, ghosts particularly, and a cry-baby (a running gag in the show has Nobita crying and requesting Doraemon to bring out his gadgets, usually at the start of the show). He dislikes happening outdoor activities with his interest being taking an afternoon nap or reading comics, right after school usually. In fact, sleeping and comic book reading are most likely his only true hobbies; one story features Nobita drifting off to sleep in three seconds simply by closing his eyes, while in others he chooses sleep over important events, such as watching the first sunrise on New Year's Day. The thing preventing him from residing at home on a regular basis, other than experimenting with Doraemon's gadgets, is Gian and Suneo bullying him to take part in baseball games or criticisms from his parents and Doraemon to go out and play.Despite the above flaws, Nobita is usually portrayed to be kind-hearted, emotional, honest, sometimes hard-working (like when he gets into a wager along with his friends) and sometimes courageous. He has often risked his life to assist in saving others or even entire civilizations in full-length tales. Though he's shown to be poor academically, the real reason for it is especially his laziness, and he has secured good marks in multiple episodes also, proving his credentials. Nobita can be very serious and accountable at times. Nobita is weak at most things but has some strengths. For example, Nobita has excellent marksmanship which rivals (or even surpasses) Dora a child. They can weave excellent string figures also, is a great archer, and a reasonably good comic publication critic, owing to the huge amount of their time he spends on reading them. He's also very creative when it comes to utilizing Doraemon's gizmos (in a single episode, he found a way to use a gadget called 'the broadcasting mirror' profitably, for advertising, even though Doraemon himself couldn't think of any use for it).In the initial background where Doraemon didn't interfere, Nobita marries Jaiko (Gian's sister, although he is in love with Shizuka), never confirms a good job, begins his own business, and eventually goes bankrupt. Doraemon succeeds on his mission to avoid all these from happening, as seen in several episodes where they travel to the near future. Nobita eventually marries Shizuka and becomes an official in the Ministry of Environment.
