Shizuka Minamoto , nicknamed Shizuka-chan is a smart, kind and lovely girl; she is Nobita's closest friend and he has a crush on her behalf. Shizuka is an animal fan and keeps two dogs at home: a dog, who's kept from succumbing to illness by Doraemon and Nobita in a single account; and a canary which runs away on multiple occasions and creating Shizuka and Nobita to run around metropolis hunting her down.Because of Doraemon's intervention, Shizuka shall marry Nobita in the future. At the moment, she does not have any particular crush (apart from on Nobita, whom she secretly likes quite definitely), although she fancies some handsome idols on TV. Other than Nobita, Gian, and Suneo, Shizuka is also near classmate and popular pupil Dekisugi which makes Nobita jealous; though they consider the other person only as friends, Nobita often will try to alongside one another prevent them from going.In the shut captioning of Doraemon's Time Capsule, her Japanese name is retained while donating her journal to the capsule.
