Nobita's typical day contains arriving past due to school, falling asleep during class, rating zero (0%) (F's in the English dub) on his exams, getting scolded by his teacher, being teased by his classmates Suneo and Gian, falling in the curbside rainfall gutters, getting chased by canines after stepping on their tails mistakenly, getting grounded by his mom for not concluding his homework, and being bullied by all his friends except Shizuka, who remembers Nobita's kind heart and cares for him. He's also a coward who's frightened by almost everything, particularly ghosts, and a cry-baby (a jogging gag in the show has Nobita crying and requesting Doraemon to bring out his gadgets, typically at the start of the event). He dislikes taking place outdoor activities along with his interest being taking an afternoon nap or reading comics, usually right after school. In fact, sleeping and comic booklet reading are his only true hobbies probably; one story features Nobita falling in three seconds simply by closing his eyes asleep, while in others he chooses sleep over important events, such as watching the first sunrise on New Year's Day. The only thing preventing him from staying at home on a regular basis, other than experimenting with Doraemon's gizmos, is Gian and Suneo bullying him to participate in baseball video games or criticisms from his parents and Doraemon to venture out and play.Regardless of the above flaws, Nobita is portrayed to be kind-hearted usually, emotional, honest, occasionally hard-working (like when he gets into a wager with his friends) and sometimes courageous. He has often risked his life to help save others or even whole civilizations in full-length tales. Though he is been shown to be academically poor, the reason behind it is his laziness principally, and he has also guaranteed good grades in multiple shows, proving his credentials. Nobita can be very in charge and serious at times. Nobita is weak for the most part things but has some strengths. For example, Nobita has excellent marksmanship which rivals (or even surpasses) Dora the Kid. He is able to also weave excellent string numbers, is a great archer, and a fairly good comic booklet critic, due to the huge amount of energy he spends on reading them. He is also very creative as it pertains to utilizing Doraemon's gizmos (in a single episode, he found a way to use a gadget called 'the broadcasting mirror' profitably, for advertising, even though Doraemon himself couldn't think of any use for this).In the original background where Doraemon didn't interfere, Nobita marries Jaiko (Gian's sister, although he is in love with Shizuka), never detects a good job, starts off his own business, and eventually goes bankrupt. Doraemon succeeds on his mission to prevent all these from happening, as seen in several episodes where they happen to be the near future. Nobita eventually marries Shizuka and becomes an officer in the Ministry of Environment.
