Shizuka Minamoto , nicknamed Shizuka-chan is a smart, kind and attractive girl; she is Nobita's closest friend and he has a crush on her behalf. She will not shun Nobita due to the latter's failing grades, sluggish disposition or continuous failures; in truth she tries to encourage him to do better often, though she does not persuade him usually.
