In game image of Doraemon 3: Nobita to Toki no Hougyoku on the
Nobita's typical day involves arriving later to school, falling during class asleep, rating zero (0%) (F's in the English dub) on his lab tests, getting scolded by his educator, being teased by his classmates Gian and Suneo, slipping in the curbside rain gutters, getting chased by pups after mistakenly stepping on the tails, getting grounded by his mom for not completing his research, and being bullied by all his friends except Shizuka, who remembers Nobita's kind heart and soul and cares for him. He's a coward who is terrified by almost anything also, ghosts particularly, and a cry-baby (a working gag in the show has Nobita crying and asking for Doraemon to bring out his gadgets, typically at the start of the show). He dislikes taking place outdoor activities with his interest being taking a day nap or reading comics, right after school usually. In fact, sleeping and comic reserve reading are his only true hobbies and interests probably; one story features Nobita drifting off to sleep in three seconds simply by closing his eyes, while in others he chooses sleep over important events, such as watching the first sunrise on New Year's Day. The only thing preventing him from residing at home all the right time, other than experimenting with Doraemon's devices, is Gian and Suneo bullying him to take part in baseball video games or criticisms from his parents and Doraemon to go out and play.Regardless of the above flaws, Nobita is portrayed as being kind-hearted usually, emotional, honest, occasionally hard-working (like when he gets into a wager along with his friends) and sometimes courageous. He has often risked his life to help save others or even entire civilizations in full-length reports. Though he is been shown to be poor academically, the reason behind it is especially his laziness, and he has anchored good marks in multiple shows also, proving his credentials. Nobita can be very serious and sensible sometimes. Nobita is weak at most things but has some strengths. For instance, Nobita has excellent marksmanship which rivals (or even surpasses) Dora the Kid. He is able to weave excellent string results also, is a great archer, and a good comic booklet critic pretty, owing to the huge amount of the time he spends on reading them. He is also very creative when it comes to utilizing Doraemon's gizmos (in a single episode, he found a way to profitably use a gadget called 'the broadcasting mirror', for advertising, even when Doraemon himself couldn't think of any use for it).In the original history where Doraemon didn't interfere, Nobita marries Jaiko (Gian's sister, although he enjoys Shizuka), never detects a good job, starts his own business, and goes bankrupt eventually. Doraemon succeeds on his mission to avoid all these from happening, as observed in several episodes where they happen to be the near future. Nobita eventually marries Shizuka and becomes an official in the Ministry of Environment.
