Nobita's typical day includes arriving overdue to school, falling during class asleep, rating zero (0%) (F's in the British dub) on his exams, getting scolded by his tutor, being teased by his classmates Suneo and Gian, dropping in the curbside rain gutters, getting chased by pet dogs after mistakenly stepping on the tails, getting grounded by his mom for not completing his homework, and being bullied by all his friends except Shizuka, who remembers Nobita's kind center and cares for him. He's also a coward who is terrified by almost everything, particularly ghosts, and a cry-baby (a working gag in the show has Nobita crying and requesting Doraemon to draw out his gadgets, usually at the beginning of the instance). He dislikes going on outdoor activities with his interest being taking an afternoon nap or reading comics, usually right after school. In fact, sleeping and comic publication reading are his only true hobbies probably; one story features Nobita drifting off to sleep in three seconds just by closing his eyes, while in others he chooses sleep over important events, such as watching the first sunrise on New Year's Day. The thing halting him from residing at home all the right time, other than tinkering with Doraemon's gadgets, is Gian and Suneo bullying him to participate in baseball video games or criticisms from his parents and Doraemon to go out and play.Regardless of the above flaws, Nobita is portrayed as being kind-hearted usually, emotional, honest, once in a while hard-working (like when he enters a wager along with his friends) and sometimes courageous. He has often risked his life to help save others or even entire civilizations in full-length reviews. Though he's shown to be poor academically, the reason behind it is principally his laziness, and he has guaranteed good grades in multiple episodes also, proving his qualifications. Nobita can be very accountable and serious sometimes. Nobita is weak at most things but has some strengths. For instance, Nobita has excellent marksmanship which rivals (or even surpasses) Dora a child. He is able to also weave excellent string figures, is a superb archer, and a good comic booklet critic rather, due to the large amount of time he spends on reading them. He is also very creative when it comes to utilizing Doraemon's gizmos (in a single episode, he found a way to profitably use a tool called 'the broadcasting mirror', for advertising, even though Doraemon himself couldn't think of any use for this).In the original background where Doraemon didn't interfere, Nobita marries Jaiko (Gian's sister, although he loves Shizuka), never sees a good job, begins his own business, and eventually goes bankrupt. Doraemon succeeds on his mission to prevent all these from happening, as seen in several episodes where they happen to be the near future. Nobita eventually marries Shizuka and becomes an official in the Ministry of Environment.
