He is a coward who is worried by almost everything also, particularly ghosts, and a cry-baby (a jogging gag in the show has Nobita crying and asking for Doraemon to draw out his gadgets, typically at the beginning of the instance). He dislikes occurring outdoor activities with his interest being taking a day nap or reading comics, usually right after school. In fact, sleeping and comic reserve reading are his only true interests probably; one story features Nobita drifting off to sleep in three seconds simply by closing his eyes, while in others he chooses sleep over important events, such as watching the first sunrise on New Year's Day. He has often risked his life to assist in saving others or even complete civilizations in full-length tales. Though he's shown to be poor academically, the reason behind it is his laziness principally, and he has secured good marks in multiple shows also, proving his credentials. Nobita can be very serious and responsible at times. Nobita is weak for the most part things but has some strengths. For example, Nobita has excellent marksmanship which rivals (or even surpasses) Dora the Kid. He can weave excellent string figures also, is a great archer, and a good comic e book critic rather, owing to the large amount of energy he spends on reading them. He is also very creative as it pertains to utilizing Doraemon's gizmos (in a single episode, he found a way to profitably use a gadget called 'the broadcasting mirror', for advertising, even when Doraemon himself couldn't think of any use for this).In the initial background where Doraemon didn't interfere, Nobita marries Jaiko (Gian's sister, although he adores Shizuka), never sees a good job, starts his own business, and goes bankrupt eventually. Doraemon succeeds on his mission to avoid each one of these from happening, as seen in several episodes in which they travel to the future. Nobita eventually marries Shizuka and becomes an official in the Ministry of Environment.
