Doraemon: Doraemon39;s friend
Nobita's typical day includes arriving past due to school, falling asleep during class, credit scoring zero (0%) (F's in the British dub) on his assessments, getting scolded by his teacher, being teased by his classmates Suneo and Gian, slipping in the curbside rainfall gutters, getting chased by puppies after mistakenly moving on the tails, getting grounded by his mom for not completing his homework, and being bullied by all his friends except Shizuka, who remembers Nobita's kind center and cares for him. He is a coward who is scared by almost anything also, particularly ghosts, and a cry-baby (a running gag in the show has Nobita crying and requesting Doraemon to bring out his gadgets, mostly at the beginning of the show). He dislikes going on outdoor activities with his interest being taking a day reading or nap comics, usually right after school. In fact, sleeping and comic e book reading are his only true hobbies and interests probably; one story features Nobita falling in three seconds just by closing his eyes asleep, while in others he chooses sleep over important events, such as watching the first sunrise on New Year's Day. The only thing stopping him from staying at home all the time, other than experimenting with Doraemon's gadgets, is Gian and Suneo bullying him to take part in baseball video games or criticisms from his parents and Doraemon to venture out and play.Despite the above flaws, Nobita is usually portrayed to be kind-hearted, emotional, honest, occasionally hard-working (like when he gets into a wager along with his friends) and sometimes courageous. He has often risked his life to help save others or even complete civilizations in full-length tales. Though he is been shown to be poor academically, the real reason for it is principally his laziness, and he has secured good marks in multiple shows also, proving his credentials. Nobita can be quite dependable and serious at times. Nobita is weak at most things but has some strengths. For instance, Nobita has excellent marksmanship which rivals (or even surpasses) Dora a child. They can also weave excellent string characters, is a superb archer, and a fairly good comic booklet critic, due to the large amount of their time he spends on reading them. He's also very creative as it pertains to utilizing Doraemon's gizmos (in one episode, he found a way to use a gizmo called 'the broadcasting mirror' profitably, for advertising, even though Doraemon himself couldn't think of any use for it).In the initial history where Doraemon didn't interfere, Nobita marries Jaiko (Gian's sister, although he is in love with Shizuka), never finds a good job, begins his own business, and eventually goes bankrupt. Doraemon succeeds on his mission to avoid all these from happening, as observed in several episodes in which they happen to be the future. Nobita eventually marries Shizuka and becomes an officer in the Ministry of Environment.
