He's a coward who's frightened by almost everything also, ghosts particularly, and a cry-baby (a jogging gag in the show has Nobita crying and requesting Doraemon to draw out his gadgets, mainly at the beginning of the show). He dislikes occurring outdoor activities with his interest being taking an afternoon reading or nap comics, right after school usually. In fact, sleeping and comic book reading are his only true interests probably; one story features Nobita drifting off to sleep in three seconds just by closing his eyes, while in others he chooses sleep over important events, such as watching the first sunrise on New Year's Day. The thing preventing him from residing at home all the right time, other than experimenting with Doraemon's devices, is Gian and Suneo bullying him to participate in baseball video games or criticisms from his parents and Doraemon to go out and play.Despite the above flaws, Nobita is usually portrayed as being kind-hearted, emotional, honest, once in a while hard-working (like when he enters a wager along with his friends) and sometimes courageous. He has often risked his life to help save others or even complete civilizations in full-length reports. Though he's been shown to be academically poor, the reason behind it is principally his laziness, and he has also guaranteed good markings in multiple episodes, proving his qualifications. Nobita can be very serious and accountable at times. Nobita is weak for the most part things but has some strengths. For instance, Nobita has excellent marksmanship which rivals (or even surpasses) Dora a child. They can weave excellent string figures also, is a superb archer, and a good comic publication critic rather, due to the huge amount of energy he spends on reading them. He's also very creative as it pertains to utilizing Doraemon's gizmos (in one episode, he found a way to profitably use a gizmo called 'the broadcasting mirror', for advertising, even though Doraemon himself couldn't think of any use for it).In the original background where Doraemon did not interfere, Nobita marries Jaiko (Gian's sister, although he adores Shizuka), never finds a good job, begins his own business, and goes bankrupt eventually. Doraemon succeeds on his mission to avoid each one of these from happening, as observed in several episodes in which they travel to the future. Nobita eventually marries Shizuka and becomes an official in the Ministry of Environment.
