Though he's shown to be academically poor, the real reason for it is his laziness principally, and he has anchored good grades in multiple episodes also, proving his credentials. Nobita can be quite serious and dependable at times. Nobita is weak for the most part things but does have some strengths. For instance, Nobita has excellent marksmanship which rivals (or even surpasses) Dora the Kid. He can also weave excellent string numbers, is a superb archer, and a fairly good comic booklet critic, due to the huge amount of energy he spends on reading them. He's also very creative when it comes to utilizing Doraemon's devices (in a single episode, he found a way to use a gadget called 'the broadcasting mirror' profitably, for advertising, even though Doraemon himself couldn't think of any use for it).In the initial record where Doraemon didn't interfere, Nobita marries Jaiko (Gian's sister, although he adores Shizuka), never discovers a good job, begins his own business, and goes bankrupt eventually. Doraemon succeeds on his mission to prevent each one of these from happening, as observed in several episodes where they travel to the near future. Nobita eventually marries Shizuka and becomes an officer in the Ministry of Environment.
