Shizuka Minamoto , nicknamed Shizuka-chan is a smart, kind and attractive girl; she actually is Nobita's closest friend and he has a crush on her behalf. She does not shun Nobita due to the latter's failing marks, lazy disposition or frequent failures; in simple fact she will try to encourage him to do better often, though she fails to influence him usually. Shizuka loves to take a bath many times a full day, however, a running gag in the series is the fact that Shizuka is often interrupted by Nobita's sudden appearance, usually due to misuse of Doraemon's gizmos including the Anywhere Door, ending with Shizuka shouting "Disappear completely, pervert!" to Nobita.Her true passions are sweet potatoes, which she would keep to herself out of the knowledge of others alternatively, and the violin, in which her playing is as horrendous as Gian's singing. She is also known for taking piano lessons unwillingly anticipated to her mother's wants (as she loves violin more), which may also be grounds for declining to hold out with friends (but she takes on piano perfectly than violin). Shizuka is an animal enthusiast and keeps two dogs at home: a dog, who is saved from succumbing to disease by Doraemon and Nobita in one account; and a canary which runs away on multiple occasions and causing Shizuka and Nobita to perform around the location hunting her down.Due to Doraemon's intervention, Shizuka shall marry Nobita in the foreseeable future. Apart from Nobita, Gian, and Suneo, Shizuka is also close to classmate and popular pupil Dekisugi which makes Nobita jealous; though they consider one another only as friends, Nobita often will try to prevent them from going mutually.In the finished captioning of Doraemon's Time Capsule, her Japanese name is retained while donating her journal to the capsule. It may be an problem.
