Early English with Doraemon.
Shizuka Minamoto , nicknamed Shizuka-chan is a good, kind and very girl; she is Nobita's best ally and he has a crush on her behalf. She will not shun Nobita due to the latter's failing grades, lazy disposition or constant failures; in reality she will try to encourage him to do better often, though she usually does not influence him. Shizuka loves to have a bath many times a day, however, a running gag in the series is that Shizuka is often interrupted by Nobita's sudden appearance, usually due to misuse of Doraemon's devices such as the Anywhere Door, ending with Shizuka shouting "Go away, pervert!" to Nobita. Her true passions are sweet potatoes, which she would alternatively keep to herself from the understanding of others, and the violin, where her playing is as horrendous as Gian's performing. She is also known for taking piano lessons unwillingly due to her mother's wishes (as she is in love with violin more), which may also be a reason for declining to hang out with friends (but she plays piano perfectly than violin). Shizuka can be an animal lover and maintains two house animals at home: a dog, who's kept from succumbing to disorder by Nobita and Doraemon in one history; and a canary which runs away on multiple occasions and triggering Shizuka and Nobita to perform around metropolis hunting her down.Due to Doraemon's intervention, Shizuka will marry Nobita in the future. At present, she doesn't have any particular crush (other than on Nobita, whom she secretly likes quite definitely), although she fancies some handsome idols on TV. Other than Nobita, Gian, and Suneo, Shizuka is also close to classmate and popular scholar Dekisugi making Nobita jealous; though they consider each other only as friends, Nobita often attempts to jointly prevent them from going. In the shut captioning of Doraemon's Time Capsule, her Japanese name is retained while donating her journal to the capsule. It may be an error.
