Shizuka Minamoto , nicknamed Shizuka-chan is a good, kind and attractive girl; she is Nobita's best ally and he has a crush on her. She does not shun Nobita because of the latter's failing marks, sluggish disposition or continuous failures; in fact she attempts to encourage him to do better often, though she does not convince him usually. Shizuka likes to have a bath many times a day, however, a running gag in the series is the fact that Shizuka is often interrupted by Nobita's sudden appearance, usually due to misuse of Doraemon's gizmos like the Anywhere Door, ending with Shizuka shouting "Disappear completely, pervert!" to Nobita.Her true passions are lovely potatoes, which she would rather maintain herself out of the understanding of others, and the violin, where her playing is as horrendous as Gian's singing. She is also known for taking piano lessons unwillingly credited to her mother's wishes (as she loves violin more), which is sometimes grounds for declining to hold out with friends (but she performs piano very well than violin). Shizuka is an animal fan and continues two house animals at home: your dog, who's kept from succumbing to health issues by Nobita and Doraemon in a single story; and a canary which runs away on multiple occasions and triggering Shizuka and Nobita to run around the city hunting her down.Because of Doraemon's intervention, Shizuka will marry Nobita in the future. At present, she doesn't have any particular crush (apart from on Nobita, whom she secretly likes quite definitely), although she fancies some handsome idols on TV. Other than Nobita, Gian, and Suneo, Shizuka is also close to classmate and popular pupil Dekisugi which makes Nobita jealous; though they consider each other only as friends, Nobita often tries to jointly prevent them from going.In the sealed captioning of Doraemon's Time Capsule, her Japanese name is maintained while donating her journal to the capsule. It could be an mistake.
