Doraemon Movie 7: Nobita and the Steel Troops Stagevu: Your View
Nobita's typical day involves arriving late to school, falling asleep during class, scoring zero (0%) (F's in the English dub) on his exams, getting scolded by his instructor, being teased by his classmates Gian and Suneo, dropping in the curbside rainwater gutters, getting chased by dogs after mistakenly stepping on their tails, getting grounded by his mother for not concluding his research, and being bullied by all his friends except Shizuka, who remembers Nobita's kind center and cares for him. He is a coward who's worried by almost anything also, ghosts particularly, and a cry-baby (a jogging gag in the show has Nobita crying and requesting Doraemon to bring out his gadgets, mainly at the beginning of the episode). He dislikes going on outdoor activities with his interest being taking an afternoon nap or reading comics, right after school usually. In fact, sleeping and comic book reading are probably his only true hobbies; one story features Nobita falling in three seconds simply by closing his eyes asleep, while in others he chooses sleep over important events, such as watching the first sunrise on New Year's Day. The thing stopping him from residing at home all the time, other than experimenting with Doraemon's gizmos, is Gian and Suneo bullying him to participate in baseball game titles or criticisms from his parents and Doraemon to go out and play.Regardless of the above flaws, Nobita is portrayed to be kind-hearted usually, emotional, honest, once in a while hard-working (like when he gets into a wager with his friends) and sometimes courageous. He has often risked his life to assist in saving others or even whole civilizations in full-length reviews. Though he is shown to be poor academically, the real reason for it is especially his laziness, and he in addition has secured good grades in multiple episodes, proving his qualifications. Nobita can be very serious and responsible at times. Nobita is weak for the most part things but has some strengths. For example, Nobita has excellent marksmanship which rivals (or even surpasses) Dora the Kid. He is able to weave excellent string numbers also, is a superb archer, and a good comic book critic pretty, owing to the large amount of the time he spends on reading them. He's also very creative as it pertains to utilizing Doraemon's gizmos (in one episode, he found a way to use a gizmo called 'the broadcasting mirror' profitably, for advertising, even when Doraemon himself couldn't think of any use for this). In the original history where Doraemon did not interfere, Nobita marries Jaiko (Gian's sister, although he loves Shizuka), never finds a good job, begins his own business, and goes bankrupt eventually. Doraemon succeeds on his mission to prevent each one of these from happening, as seen in several episodes in which they travel to the future. Nobita eventually marries Shizuka and becomes an officer in the Ministry of Environment.
