RandomMe Entertainment: About the English Doraemon dub
Shizuka Minamoto , nicknamed Shizuka-chan is a good, kind and lovely girl; she actually is Nobita's best ally and he has a crush on her. She does not shun Nobita because of the latter's failing levels, lazy disposition or constant failures; in simple fact she attempts to encourage him to do better often, though she does not convince him usually. Shizuka loves to take a bath many times a complete day, however, a running gag in the series is the fact Shizuka is often interrupted by Nobita's sudden appearance, usually due to misuse of Doraemon's gizmos such as the Anywhere Door, ending with Shizuka shouting "Disappear completely, pervert!" to Nobita. Her true passions are nice potatoes, which she would keep to herself from the understanding of others somewhat, and the violin, in which her playing is really as horrendous as Gian's performing. She actually is also known when planning on taking piano lessons unwillingly credited to her mother's needs (as she enjoys violin more), which is sometimes grounds for declining to hold out with friends (but she takes on piano very well than violin). Shizuka is an animal fan and helps to keep two pets at home: a dog, who is kept from succumbing to illness by Nobita and Doraemon in a single account; and a canary which runs away on multiple occasions and leading to Shizuka and Nobita to perform around the city hunting her down.Due to Doraemon's intervention, Shizuka shall marry Nobita in the foreseeable future. At the moment, she does not have any particular crush (other than on Nobita, whom she secretly likes quite definitely), although she fancies some handsome idols on TV. Other than Nobita, Gian, and Suneo, Shizuka is also close to classmate and popular college student Dekisugi which makes Nobita jealous; though they consider each other only as friends, Nobita often will try to jointly prevent them from heading. In the sealed captioning of Doraemon's Time Capsule, her Japanese name is retained while donating her diary to the capsule. It may be an error.
