The Magic of Doraemon
Shizuka Minamoto , nicknamed Shizuka-chan is a good, kind and lovely girl; she is Nobita's best friend and he has a crush on her. She will not shun Nobita due to the latter's failing grades, lazy disposition or regular failures; in fact she often will try to encourage him to do better, though she usually does not convince him. Shizuka likes to have a bath several times a day, however, a running gag in the series is the fact that Shizuka is often interrupted by Nobita's sudden appearance, usually due to misuse of Doraemon's gizmos including the Anywhere Door, ending with Shizuka shouting "Disappear completely, pervert!" to Nobita. Her true passions are nice potatoes, which she'd somewhat keep to herself from the knowledge of others, and the violin, in which her playing is really as horrendous as Gian's singing. She actually is also known when planning on taking piano lessons unwillingly due to her mother's wants (as she adores violin more), which may also be grounds for declining to hang out with friends (but she performs piano perfectly than violin). Shizuka is an animal fan and maintains two dogs and cats at home: a puppy, who's saved from succumbing to health problems by Nobita and Doraemon in one account; and a canary which runs away on multiple occasions and creating Shizuka and Nobita to run around the town hunting her down.Due to Doraemon's intervention, Shizuka will marry Nobita in the foreseeable future. At present, she does not have any particular crush (apart from on Nobita, whom she secretly likes quite definitely), although she fancies some handsome idols on TV. Apart from Nobita, Gian, and Suneo, Shizuka is also near to classmate and popular college student Dekisugi making Nobita jealous; though they consider one another only as friends, Nobita often tries to together prevent them from heading. In the sealed captioning of Doraemon's Time Capsule, her Japanese name is maintained while donating her journal to the capsule. It may be an error.
