Shizuka Minamoto , nicknamed Shizuka-chan is a good, kind and lovely girl; she is Nobita's best ally and he has a crush on her. She does not shun Nobita due to the latter's failing marks, lazy disposition or continuous failures; in truth she will try to encourage him to do better often, though she does not persuade him usually. Shizuka loves to have a bath many times a full day, however, a running gag in the series is the fact that Shizuka is often interrupted by Nobita's sudden appearance, usually due to misuse of Doraemon's gadgets including the Anywhere Door, ending with Shizuka shouting "Go away, pervert!" to Nobita. Her true passions are nice potatoes, which she'd keep to herself from the knowledge of others somewhat, and the violin, in which her playing is as horrendous as Gian's performing. She actually is also known for taking piano lessons unwillingly anticipated to her mother's wishes (as she enjoys violin more), which is sometimes grounds for declining to hold out with friends (but she takes on piano very well than violin). Shizuka can be an animal lover and keeps two dogs and cats at home: a dog, who's saved from succumbing to condition by Doraemon and Nobita in one account; and a canary which runs away on multiple occasions and creating Shizuka and Nobita to run around the town hunting her down.Due to Doraemon's intervention, Shizuka will marry Nobita in the foreseeable future. At the moment, she does not have any particular crush (apart from on Nobita, whom she secretly likes very much), although she fancies some handsome idols on TV. Other than Nobita, Gian, and Suneo, Shizuka is also near classmate and popular university student Dekisugi which makes Nobita jealous; though they consider the other person only as friends, Nobita often tries to avoid them from going together. In the finished captioning of Doraemon's Time Capsule, her Japanese name is retained while donating her journal to the capsule. It might be an problem.
