Doraemon: Nobita and the Birth of Japan
Nobita's typical day includes arriving overdue to school, falling asleep during class, credit scoring zero (0%) (F's in the British dub) on his testing, getting scolded by his educator, being teased by his classmates Suneo and Gian, dropping in the curbside rainwater gutters, getting chased by dogs after moving on the tails mistakenly, getting grounded by his mother for not concluding his research, and being bullied by all his friends except Shizuka, who remembers Nobita's kind heart and cares for him. He's also a coward who's worried by almost everything, ghosts particularly, and a cry-baby (a running gag in the show has Nobita crying and requesting Doraemon to draw out his gadgets, mostly at the beginning of the occurrence). He dislikes occurring outdoor activities along with his interest being taking an afternoon nap or reading comics, right after school usually. In fact, sleeping and comic book reading are probably his only true hobbies; one story features Nobita falling in three seconds just by closing his eyes asleep, while in others he chooses sleep over important events, such as watching the first sunrise on New Year's Day. The thing stopping him from staying at home all the right time, other than tinkering with Doraemon's gizmos, is Gian and Suneo bullying him to take part in baseball video games or criticisms from his parents and Doraemon to venture out and play.Regardless of the above flaws, Nobita is usually portrayed as being kind-hearted, emotional, honest, sometimes hard-working (like when he enters a wager along with his friends) and sometimes courageous. He has often risked his life to help save others or even complete civilizations in full-length stories. Though he's shown to be poor academically, the real reason for it is especially his laziness, and he has guaranteed good marks in multiple shows also, proving his qualifications. Nobita can be quite serious and in charge sometimes. Nobita is weak for the most part things but has some strengths. For example, Nobita has excellent marksmanship which rivals (or even surpasses) Dora the Kid. They can weave excellent string information also, is a superb archer, and a good comic e book critic fairly, owing to the huge amount of the time he spends on reading them. He's also very creative when it comes to utilizing Doraemon's gadgets (in one episode, he found a way to use a tool called 'the broadcasting mirror' profitably, for advertising, even though Doraemon himself couldn't think of any use for it).In the original history where Doraemon did not interfere, Nobita marries Jaiko (Gian's sister, although he is in love with Shizuka), never sees a good job, starts his own business, and eventually goes bankrupt. Doraemon succeeds on his mission to avoid each one of these from happening, as seen in several episodes in which they travel to the near future. Nobita eventually marries Shizuka and becomes an official in the Ministry of Environment.
