Shizuka Minamoto , nicknamed Shizuka-chan is a good, kind and very girl; she actually is Nobita's closest friend and he has a crush on her. She will not shun Nobita due to the latter's failing marks, sluggish disposition or continuous failures; in simple fact she often will try to encourage him to do better, though she does not persuade him usually. Shizuka loves to take a bath many times a complete day, however, a running gag in the series is the fact that Shizuka is often interrupted by Nobita's sudden appearance, usually due to misuse of Doraemon's gizmos such as the Anywhere Door, ending with Shizuka shouting "Disappear completely, pervert!" to Nobita.Her true passions are special potatoes, which she'd rather maintain herself from the understanding of others, and the violin, where her playing is as horrendous as Gian's performing. She actually is also known for taking piano lessons unwillingly scheduled to her mother's desires (as she enjoys violin more), which may also be a reason for declining to hold out with friends (but she plays piano perfectly than violin). Shizuka can be an animal enthusiast and will keep two dogs and cats at home: a dog, who's saved from succumbing to illness by Nobita and Doraemon in one tale; and a canary which runs away on multiple occasions and causing Shizuka and Nobita to perform around the town hunting her down.Due to Doraemon's intervention, Shizuka will marry Nobita in the future. At present, she doesn't have any particular crush (other than on Nobita, whom she secretly likes quite definitely), although she fancies some handsome idols on TV. Apart from Nobita, Gian, and Suneo, Shizuka is also near to classmate and popular pupil Dekisugi which makes Nobita jealous; though they consider one another only as friends, Nobita often tries to avoid them from heading mutually.In the closed down captioning of Doraemon's Time Capsule, her Japanese name is retained while donating her journal to the capsule.
