Title screen of Doraemon 2: Nobita to Hikari no Shinden on the
Shizuka Minamoto , nicknamed Shizuka-chan is a good, kind and lovely girl; she actually is Nobita's best friend and he has a crush on her behalf. She does not shun Nobita because of the latter's failing marks, lazy disposition or frequent failures; in fact she often will try to encourage him to do better, though she does not persuade him usually. Shizuka likes to take a bath several times a day, however, a running gag in the series is the fact Shizuka is often interrupted by Nobita's sudden appearance, usually due to misuse of Doraemon's gadgets such as the Anywhere Door, ending with Shizuka shouting "Disappear completely, pervert!" to Nobita. Her true passions are lovely potatoes, which she'd maintain herself from the knowledge of others alternatively, and the violin, in which her playing is really as horrendous as Gian's singing. She actually is also known when planning on taking piano lessons unwillingly due to her mother's desires (as she enjoys violin more), which is sometimes grounds for declining to hold out with friends (but she performs piano very well than violin). Shizuka is an animal lover and helps to keep two domestic pets at home: your dog, who's kept from succumbing to health issues by Nobita and Doraemon in a single story; and a canary which runs away on multiple occasions and triggering Shizuka and Nobita to run around the town hunting her down.Due to Doraemon's intervention, Shizuka shall marry Nobita in the foreseeable future. At present, she doesn't have any particular crush (other than on Nobita, whom she secretly likes quite definitely), although she fancies some handsome idols on TV. Apart from Nobita, Gian, and Suneo, Shizuka is also close to classmate and popular learner Dekisugi making Nobita jealous; though they consider one another only as friends, Nobita often will try to prevent them from going together. In the shut captioning of Doraemon's Time Capsule, her Japanese name is retained while donating her diary to the capsule. It could be an problem.
