Shizuka Minamoto , nicknamed Shizuka-chan is a smart, kind and very girl; she is Nobita's best friend and he has a crush on her. She does not shun Nobita because of the latter's failing levels, lazy disposition or continuous failures; in simple fact she will try to encourage him to do better often, though she usually does not influence him. She is also known when planning on taking piano lessons unwillingly due to her mother's wishes (as she enjoys violin more), which may also be grounds for declining to hang out with friends (but she plays piano very well than violin). Shizuka is an animal enthusiast and will keep two house animals at home: a puppy, who is kept from succumbing to health issues by Nobita and Doraemon in a single history; and a canary which runs away on multiple occasions and creating Shizuka and Nobita to run around the town hunting her down.Because of Doraemon's intervention, Shizuka shall marry Nobita in the foreseeable future. At the moment, she doesn't have any particular crush (apart from on Nobita, whom she secretly likes quite definitely), although she fancies some handsome idols on TV. Other than Nobita, Gian, and Suneo, Shizuka is also near classmate and popular learner Dekisugi making Nobita jealous; though they consider each other only as friends, Nobita often attempts to mutually prevent them from going.In the closed captioning of Doraemon's Time Capsule, her Japanese name is maintained while donating her diary to the capsule.
