Shizuka Minamoto , nicknamed Shizuka-chan is a good, kind and attractive girl; she is Nobita's best friend and he has a crush on her. She will not shun Nobita due to the latter's failing levels, lazy disposition or constant failures; in simple fact she attempts to encourage him to do better often, though she does not persuade him usually. Shizuka likes to take a bath several times a full day, however, a running gag in the series is the fact Shizuka is often interrupted by Nobita's sudden appearance, usually due to misuse of Doraemon's gizmos including the Anywhere Door, ending with Shizuka shouting "Disappear completely, pervert!" to Nobita.Her true passions are sugary potatoes, which she'd keep to herself out of the knowledge of others rather, and the violin, where her playing is really as horrendous as Gian's performing. She is also known when planning on taking piano lessons unwillingly scheduled to her mother's wishes (as she enjoys violin more), which may also be grounds for declining to hold out with friends (but she plays piano very well than violin). Shizuka can be an animal enthusiast and will keep two dogs at home: a puppy, who is kept from succumbing to health issues by Nobita and Doraemon in a single report; and a canary which runs away on multiple occasions and triggering Shizuka and Nobita to run around the town hunting her down.Because of Doraemon's intervention, Shizuka will marry Nobita in the future. At present, she does not have any particular crush (other than on Nobita, whom she secretly likes quite definitely), although she fancies some handsome idols on TV. Other than Nobita, Gian, and Suneo, Shizuka is also near classmate and popular scholar Dekisugi which makes Nobita jealous; though they consider one another only as friends, Nobita often tries to avoid them from going collectively.In the finished captioning of Doraemon's Time Capsule, her Japanese name is maintained while donating her journal to the capsule.
