Shizuka Minamoto , nicknamed Shizuka-chan is a smart, kind and very girl; she actually is Nobita's best friend and he has a crush on her. She does not shun Nobita due to the latter's failing levels, lazy disposition or continuous failures; in truth she will try to encourage him to do better often, though she fails to persuade him usually. Shizuka likes to take a bath many times a complete day, however, a running gag in the series is the fact Shizuka is often interrupted by Nobita's sudden appearance, usually due to misuse of Doraemon's gadgets including the Anywhere Door, ending with Shizuka shouting "Go away, pervert!" to Nobita.Her true passions are lovely potatoes, which she'd rather keep to herself out of the understanding of others, and the violin, in which her playing is as horrendous as Gian's singing. She actually is also known when planning on taking piano lessons unwillingly anticipated to her mother's wants (as she adores violin more), which may also be a reason for declining to hold out with friends (but she plays piano perfectly than violin). Shizuka can be an animal enthusiast and retains two pets at home: a dog, who's kept from succumbing to health problems by Nobita and Doraemon in a single report; and a canary which runs away on multiple occasions and triggering Shizuka and Nobita to perform around the location hunting her down.Due to Doraemon's intervention, Shizuka will marry Nobita in the future. Apart from Nobita, Gian, and Suneo, Shizuka is also near to classmate and popular university student Dekisugi which makes Nobita jealous; though they consider one another only as friends, Nobita often will try to avoid them from going jointly.In the closed captioning of Doraemon's Time Capsule, her Japanese name is retained while donating her diary to the capsule.
