Though he's been shown to be poor academically, the real reason for it is especially his laziness, and he has anchored good marks in multiple shows also, proving his credentials. Nobita can be quite sensible and serious sometimes. Nobita is weak at most things but has some strengths. For instance, Nobita has excellent marksmanship which rivals (or even surpasses) Dora the Kid. They can also weave excellent string characters, is a great archer, and a fairly good comic publication critic, due to the huge amount of their time he spends on reading them. He's also very creative as it pertains to utilizing Doraemon's devices (in a single episode, he found a way to use a tool called 'the broadcasting mirror' profitably, for advertising, even though Doraemon himself couldn't think of any use for this).In the original background where Doraemon didn't interfere, Nobita marries Jaiko (Gian's sister, although he enjoys Shizuka), never detects a good job, starts off his own business, and eventually goes bankrupt. Doraemon succeeds on his mission to prevent all these from happening, as seen in several episodes where they happen to be the near future. Nobita eventually marries Shizuka and becomes an officer in the Ministry of Environment.
