Nobita's typical day includes arriving overdue to school, falling asleep during class, rating zero (0%) (F's in the British dub) on his lab tests, getting scolded by his educator, being teased by his classmates Gian and Suneo, falling in the curbside rain gutters, getting chased by puppies after moving on their tails mistakenly, getting grounded by his mother for not concluding his research, and being bullied by all his friends except Shizuka, who remembers Nobita's kind center and cares for him. He is a coward who's worried by almost anything also, particularly ghosts, and a cry-baby (a jogging gag in the show has Nobita crying and asking for Doraemon to draw out his gadgets, usually at the start of the occurrence). He dislikes going on outdoor activities with his interest being taking a day nap or reading comics, right after school usually. In fact, sleeping and comic book reading are probably his only true hobbies; one story features Nobita falling in three seconds simply by closing his eyes asleep, while in others he chooses sleep over important events, such as watching the first sunrise on New Year's Day. The thing halting him from staying at home on a regular basis, other than experimenting with Doraemon's devices, is Gian and Suneo bullying him to take part in baseball video games or criticisms from his parents and Doraemon to go out and play.Despite the above flaws, Nobita is usually portrayed as being kind-hearted, emotional, honest, occasionally hard-working (like when he enters a wager with his friends) and sometimes courageous. He has often risked his life to assist in saving others or even entire civilizations in full-length experiences. Though he's shown to be poor academically, the reason behind it is especially his laziness, and he has also guaranteed good grades in multiple episodes, proving his qualifications. Nobita can be very accountable and serious at times. Nobita is weak for the most part things but has some strengths. For instance, Nobita has excellent marksmanship which rivals (or even surpasses) Dora the Kid. They can also weave excellent string numbers, is a great archer, and a reasonably good comic e book critic, owing to the large amount of the time he spends on reading them. He's also very creative when it comes to utilizing Doraemon's gadgets (in a single episode, he found a way to use a gadget called 'the broadcasting mirror' profitably, for advertising, even though Doraemon himself couldn't think of any use for it).In the original background where Doraemon didn't interfere, Nobita marries Jaiko (Gian's sister, although he adores Shizuka), never finds a good job, starts off his own business, and eventually goes bankrupt. Doraemon succeeds on his mission to avoid all these from happening, as observed in several episodes where they happen to be the near future. Nobita eventually marries Shizuka and becomes an official in the Ministry of Environment.
