In fact, sleeping and comic publication reading are his only true hobbies probably; one story features Nobita falling asleep in three seconds simply by closing his eyes, while in others he chooses sleep over important events, such as watching the first sunrise on New Year's Day. The thing halting him from staying at home all the right time, other than experimenting with Doraemon's devices, is Gian and Suneo bullying him to participate in baseball games or criticisms from his parents and Doraemon to go out and play.Regardless of the above flaws, Nobita is portrayed to be kind-hearted usually, emotional, honest, occasionally hard-working (like when he enters a wager along with his friends) and sometimes courageous. He has often risked his life to assist in saving others or even complete civilizations in full-length testimonies. Though he's been shown to be poor academically, the reason behind it is especially his laziness, and he has also guaranteed good grades in multiple episodes, proving his qualifications. Nobita can be quite serious and liable sometimes. Nobita is weak at most things but does have some strengths. For example, Nobita has excellent marksmanship which rivals (or even surpasses) Dora a child. They can weave excellent string information also, is a superb archer, and a good comic booklet critic quite, owing to the huge amount of their time he spends on reading them. He is also very creative as it pertains to utilizing Doraemon's gizmos (in one episode, he found a way to use a gizmo called 'the broadcasting mirror' profitably, for advertising, even though Doraemon himself couldn't think of any use for it).In the original record where Doraemon did not interfere, Nobita marries Jaiko (Gian's sister, although he is in love with Shizuka), never detects a good job, begins his own business, and goes bankrupt eventually. Doraemon succeeds on his mission to prevent all these from happening, as seen in several episodes in which they happen to be the near future. Nobita eventually marries Shizuka and becomes an official in the Ministry of Environment.
